The Zumo series from Garmin is specifically built for motorcycles, but comes with an easy to install mounting kit also for use in a car. The Garmin Zumo 550 gps navigation system provides text- and voice-guided directions. All maps are preloaded on the device, and the unit has a built-in MP3 player and integrated Bluetooth for hands-free calling.

3D Navigation from ViaMichelin

Over at CeBit 2007, ViaMichelin have just shown off their new software “3D monument Viamichelin Navigation” that renders maps in 3D. What do you think, do we really need 3D maps for gps car navigation systems? 3D city models will be available in 2007 for 13 cities in Europe and 30 cities in North America. 15 to 30 City Landmarks will be available per City Model.Here is a short video review that shows how it works.
