Google have just announced the release of the new google maps for mobile smartphones with a feature that gives any phone even the ones without a gps chip the ability to get find their approximate location.

The the Version 2 maps, users can use the “My Location” feature to see where they are on a map. The technology uses information received from cell towers to figure out the location on th map. The new maps will be available on most smart phones and can be downloaded the google mobile maps site.
